On 19 June, Andrii Butenko, NAQA Head, took part in a round table “Thirty Years of the Constitution of Ukraine: Achievements and Contemporary Challenges”, which took place at the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the initiative of its Speaker, Ruslan Stefanchuk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The discussion, attended by leading scholars, figures from the academic community and members of parliament from the ninth and second convocations (including the drafters of the 1996 Constitution), marked the start of a series of events to mark Ukraine\u2019s Constitution Day. Participants discussed the key challenges facing Ukrainian constitutionalism in the current climate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This anniversary year highlights the fundamental importance of the Constitution for our statehood and integration into the European space. The past three decades, as well as the current challenges posed by a full-scale war, clearly demonstrate that the Constitution is a reliable foundation for the stability of state institutions and the protection of every citizen\u2019s rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
