On 28 March, NAQA held a webinar on “Formation of a high-quality study programme in the speciality 035 Philology”, which was brought together 349 participants, including philologists, educators and researchers. It aimed to explore best practices and strategies for improving philological education.
Olena Yeremenko, Vice Head of NAQA, presented the best practices of philological education in terms of learning foreign languages. After that, Oleksandr Bondarenko, member of the Sectoral Expert Council 03 “Humanities”, Associate Professor of the Volodymyr Vynnychenko Central Ukrainian State University and Director of the translation company Translatel LTD, offered valuable perspectives on taking into account higher education standards when developing study programmes containing technological and service-oriented competences, and stressed the importance of their alignment with the established standards to ensure a quality result. In addition, Ganna Denyskina, Head of the Accreditation Department of NAQA Secretariat, described the process of preparing study programmes in philology for accreditation, focusing on the analysis and procedures to be followed to obtain accreditation. And Alla Koroliova, Vice-Rector of Kyiv National Linguistic University, shared the university’s experience in designing, implementing and accrediting study programmes in the speciality 035 Philology.
The webinar also became a platform for fruitful discussions and knowledge exchange, as it included an interactive Q&A session, which contributed to a deeper understanding of the complexities and challenges inherent in developing and maintaining quality study programmes in the field of philology.
