“It’s a pity that the theme of the conference is “Ukrainian Students in the Context of the War with russia”, it would be better to have the theme “Student Influence on Quality Assurance in Higher Education in Ukraine”, but unfortunately, we are at war… and students, like all of us, are not thinking about quality assurance, but how to survive in the conditions of constant shelling and destruction of educational institutions. Students have never stood aside from the driving changes in our country. They have been the driving force behind these changes. Despite the difficult conditions, I invite students to be active in the higher education quality assurance system and join NAQA as experts,”
said Oleksandra Osiiuk, Vice Head of NAQA Secretariat, during the All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference “Students of Ukraine in the Context of the War with russia” at the Khmelnytskyi Cooperative Trade and Economic Institute on 19 April.
The event brought together academic and pedagogical staff, students of higher and vocational pre-university education, young scientists to discuss and resolve topical issues outlined in the conference’s agenda, which included education management under martial law, adaptation of higher education institutions under martial law, honouring the heroism of student defenders of Ukraine, engaging students in volunteer activities, providing support to internally displaced students, understanding the unique challenges faced by Ukrainians.
