A working meeting took place involving Minister of Health Viktor Liashko, Deputy Minister of Education Denys Kurbatov, and NAQA Head Andrii Butenko, focused on strengthening the requirements for upholding academic integrity in educational institutions that train professionals in the field of healthcare.
During the meeting, participants discussed negative trends observed in the training of specialists and the defence of dissertation research, including issues related to academic plagiarism.
The participants developed steps to reinforce accountability for breaches of academic integrity and agreed on joint organisational measures to formulate relevant policies. In particular, they discussed the creation of a Code of Academic Integrity and a set of recommendations for all higher education institutions and research establishments under the Ministry of Health.
Upholding the principles of academic integrity is fundamental to the quality of education and essential for the preparation of competent and responsible professionals in the healthcare sector.
