On 7 July, NAQA presented its 2024 Quality Review on higher education in Ukraine to the Parliamentary Committee on Education, Science and Innovation.
NAQA Head Andrii Butenko highlighted NAQA’s strategic role in supporting systemic change and enhancing the quality of the educational environment. The discussion focused on key challenges, progress made, and areas for improvement.
Particular attention was given to the role of quality higher education in advancing sustainable development. The findings of the Review are regularly used by Parliament and other stakeholders to inform improvements in higher education policy and procedures.
The Committee remains a key platform for public dialogue on quality assurance in higher education. We are grateful to the Members of Parliament for their thoughtful engagement, constructive feedback, and commitment to improving Ukraine’s higher education system.
As Committee Chair Serhii Babak noted:
“A tremendous amount of work has been done – fundamental, thorough, and of very high quality… and the pace of moving towards European recognition is also very important.”
NAQA remains dedicated to open dialogue, evidence-based policymaking, and continuous progress to ensure a strong and globally recognised higher education system in Ukraine.
