Forum ‘Medicine Through the Eyes of Women’

The Bogomolets National Medical University hosted a forum entitled ‘Medicine Through the Eyes of Women’.

The participants discussed the role of women in the healthcare ecosystem, career challenges and risks in the modern world, the integration of practical experience, and changes in medical science and education in Ukraine. The participants also discussed overcoming barriers and stereotypes, the impact of war, the peculiarities of virtualisation in education, the use of artificial intelligence, and the prospects for regulating medical education standards. The speakers shared their personal experiences and advice and answered questions from the audience.

‘Everything that happens in education happens not ‘thanks to’ but ‘despite’. Education is a field of challenges. Our main priority right now is to avoid imitating the educational process, which should be focused on learners, not on the reaction of a commission or an exam. Our goal is to reach a level where everything happens not in spite of, but because of,’ emphasised Olena Yeremenko, NAQA Vice Head, at the panel discussion ’Women in Medical Education and Science.’
