Regional seminar “Current State of the Higher EducationQuality Assurance System in Ukraine: Challenges and Prospects” in Sumy 

On April 10, NAQA held a regional seminar in Sumy “Current State of the Higher EducationQuality Assurance System in Ukraine: Challenges and Prospects”.  

For security reasons, the event was held in a shelter at the Sumy National Agrarian University and was attended by over 120 participants, not only from higher education institutions in the city, but also representatives from other cities, including Kharkiv, Hlukhiv, and others. 

The following NAQA representatives spoke at the seminar and answered numerous questions:  

NAQA Vice Head Olena Yeremenko, Head of NAQA Secretariat Oleksandr Khymenko, Head of NAQA Analytical and Training Support Department Oksana Trebenko, and Head of NAQA Public Relations and International Cooperation Department Maksym Folomieiev.  

The speakers emphasised the importance of internal quality assurance processes for the sustainable development of HEIs, provided explanations on the procedures for reissuing accreditation certificates for study programmes and innovations in this process, demonstrated the use of the List of Significant Shortcomings in Quality Assurance in Education through a number of relevant examples, and outlined a number of areas for systematic interaction between the agency and HEIs.  

NAQA’s seminars provided an opportunity for active educators to discuss numerous issues related to the quality of higher education in the difficult conditions of war.
