On 12–14 November, the NAQA Head, Andrii Butenko, and Vice Head, Nataliia Stukalo, took part in the European Quality Assurance Forum (EQAF) 2025. The theme of this year’s EQAF was: ‘QA in times of crises – Ensuring stability, autonomy and international cooperation in higher education’.
During the forum, Nataliia Stukalo, together with Fedir Shandor, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Hungary, and Kyrylo Demchenko, founder and member of the Executive Board of the Ukrainian Students League (USL), gave a presentation on ‘The flexibility of Ukrainian higher education in a state of martial law’. Also during EQAF, Nataliia Stukalo, together with the Head of Higher Education Evaluation at the Estonian Quality Agency for Education (HAKA) Hillar Bauman and First Vice-Rector of Lutsk National Technical University Nadiia Kovalchuk, presented a successful case study of the implementation of a joint Estonian-Ukrainian project on institutional accreditation and discussed how its results have impacted universities and the higher education system in Ukraine as a whole.
EQAF once again brought together representatives of leading European quality assurance agencies, universities, student organisations and other stakeholders to discuss important topics and challenges that participants in the educational process face on a daily basis. Three intense days of the forum provided an opportunity to share the successful experience of flexibility and resilience of the Ukrainian higher education quality assurance system in the context of full-scale war, as well as to demonstrate fruitful partnership with foreign colleagues aimed at improving and implementing best practices.
We sincerely thank the organisers and colleagues for a fruitful and meaningful EQAF 2025.
