NAQA_informs about the adoption of the Law of Ukraine “On Academic Integrity”

On 18 December 2025, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (Parliament) adopted the Law of Ukraine “On Academic Integrity” – a landmark step toward strengthening the quality, transparency, and credibility of education and research.

NAQA was among the key initiators and a driving force behind the Law at every stage of its development. This achievement reflects years of professional dialogue, expert collaboration, and consensus-building with the stakeholders. We are also grateful to NAQA Advisory Board Members for their professional advices and practical recommendations, which made a meaningful contribution to the development of this legislative initiative.

The Law On Academic Integrity establishes a strong foundation for promoting academic integrity as a core value across educational institutions, research organisations, and society as a whole. It defines key principles, types of violations, accountability mechanisms, and clarifies the mandate of NAQA in ensuring academic integrity. It is expected to drive profound cultural change – strengthening trust in research and learning outcomes, respect for intellectual work, and both institutional and personal responsibility.
