On the night of 16 February, russian forces carried out yet another attack on the main building of Kherson State University. The shelling caused damage to lecture theatres and laboratories in the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics, where future teachers and specialists for Ukrainian schools were being trained.
The deliberate destruction of educational infrastructure is a crime against the Ukrainian state, society and the future of our children. Education is the foundation of the country’s recovery, development and security. Attacks on universities and research institutions are an attempt to deprive Ukraine of knowledge, skilled personnel and prospects.
Despite the destruction, Ukrainian education will endure. We support educators, students and researchers who continue to work and teach even in the conditions of war.
