On 24 September, a training “Students’ Involvement in the External Quality Assurance System” took place, organised by NAQA in collaboration with the Ukrainian Association of Students (UAS).
In her opening remarks, Olena Yeremenko, NAQA Vice Head, emphasised that students are full partners in the educational process, who see it from the inside and can realistically assess the quality of teaching. According to her, the work of student experts goes beyond simply preparing reports — it involves building a community of leaders capable of initiating change and influencing higher education in the country.
During the training, Oxana Trebenko, Head of the Analytics and Training Support Department, focused on the essence of external quality assurance, in particular the accreditation of study programmes. Participants tried their hand at being experts: they analysed self-assessment materials, prepared questions for the meeting, cross-referenced information from various sources and drew conclusions based on facts. This format helped participants gain a better understanding of how the expert evaluation of a study programme takes place and what role students play in it.
The training is part of a series of events organised by the Ukrainian Association of Students (UAS) as part of the “QA in Action: Students as Quality Partners” project.
