Institutional accreditation in Ukraine has been the subject of much discussion recently. In March 2021, during the Parliament`s committee hearings, it was emphasized the need to regulate institutional accreditation as soon as possible. Currently, the legislative model of institutional accreditation is under development, and NAQA representatives are actively involved.
On Friday, May 21, experts of the Advisory Board Olgun Cicek, Irine Darchia, Ian Welch together with NAQA representatives Nataliia Stukalo, Bohdan Morklyanyk, Ihor Oleksiv, Mychailo Wynnyckyj and Albina Tsiatkovska discussed the model of institutional accreditation in other countries and in Ukraine. It is worth noting that, according to foreign experts, institutional accreditation should have a clear purpose and introduce an external assessment of the ability of a higher education institution as a whole to ensure high quality education.
The experts will continue to provide advisory support to the National Agency on building an optimal and effective model and procedure for institutional accreditation in Ukraine.
