On June 30, 2021, NAQA representatives met with the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA), UK.
QAA is the UK’s independent quality body for higher education. Founded in 1997, QAA works with sector stakeholders and students across all four nations of the UK.
The meeting was attended by the NAQA Head Serhiy Kvit, NAQA Vice-Heads Nataliia Stukalo, Olena Yeremenko, Bohdan Morklyanyk, NAQA members Tetiana Prikhna, Liliya Janse, Head of NAQA Secretariat Mychailo Wynnyckyj, Head of the Public Relations and International Cooperation Department Oleksandra Osiiuk, International Project Manager Albina Tsiatkovska. QAA was represented by Stephanie Sandford, Dr Alison Felce, George Prentice and Ian Welch.
NAQA – QAA cooperation has started in 2019. QAA then provided expert support in training the coaches for NAQA. The next training of coaches by QAA experts took place in autumn 2020. To date, NAQA includes 45 coaches who have successfully trained more than 4,000 accreditation experts in Ukraine. Also during 2020-2021 there were other events, webinars, forums, which were attended by NAQA and QAA.
During the meeting, the representatives of the agencies spoke in more detail about their activities, as well as mentioned the activities and joint initiatives that unite NAQA and QAA. They also described the areas of further cooperation, i. e. academic integrity and institutional accreditation in Ukraine. These initiatives will be the basis of a future memorandum of understanding.
