On January 31 and February 3, the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance together with the British Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) and with the support of the British Council in Ukraine conducted a two-day online training: “Sectoral Context of Accreditation: International experience”.
The training aimed to bring together members of the NAQA Sectoral Expert Councils to discuss and analyze their roles in them, as well as, to compare them with the practices of international colleagues.
The event included both the theoretical part provided by the leading QAA coaches Ian Welch and Dr Alison Felce, along with group practical tasks.
Ian Welch and Dr Alison Felce presented to the participants examples of Sectoral Expert Councils’ equivalents in different countries around the world, demonstrated the key principles of formulating structured recommendations and features of good practice.
The participants of the training also had the opportunity to consider in detail the general accreditation procedure, in particular the role of experts and Sectoral Expert Councils’ members and the positive and negative aspects of the accompanying documentation.
