The round table “The Impact of War on Learning Outcomes”

On February 22, NAQA Head Andrii Butenko, took part in the round table “The Impact of War on Learning Outcomes”, organized by Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University.

The event was dedicated to the discussion of the dynamics of the learning outcomes of education applicants in the conditions of full-scale aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine. Andrii Butenko addressed the audience with a number of theses, emphasizing the need to clearly distinguish between learning losses (as losses or insufficient formation of competencies by those acquiring education) and losses of the education system, which suffers due to the destruction of educational infrastructure, internal displacement and forced emigration of applicants and academic staff, detachment of applicants from full immersion in the educational environment of the university, technical problems of ensuring access to education. The speaker proposed to create a working group for developing of criteria for measuring possible educational losses at all levels and further introduction of compensatory measures.

The National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance considers the problem of educational losses extremely important and is grateful to the organizers of the event for actualising the discussion on this topic.
