The XII International Scientific and Practical Conference “European Integration of Higher Education in Ukraine in the Context of the Bologna Process: Digitalization and Quality Assurance in Higher Education”

On December 14, the XII International Scientific and Practical Conference “European Integration of Higher Education in Ukraine in the Context of the Bologna Process: Digitalization and Quality Assurance in Higher Education” took place. The event was organized by the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine in collaboration with the Institute of Higher Education of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, supported by the EU Delegation to Ukraine, the Executive Agency for Education and Culture, and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University, and NAQA.

Andrii Butenko, NAQA Head, delivered the opening remarks and was a speaker in the first conference session on “The Bologna Process and Digital Transformations in Higher Education”. He focused on the harmonization of Ukrainian legislation in the field of quality assurance in higher education, bringing normative-legal documents in line with ESG-2015. He highlighted the main changes in national legislation in 2023, aligning Ukrainian quality assurance systems with European practices, emphasizing the primary goal of internal and external quality assurance systems in higher education to enhance the quality and prestige of Ukrainian higher education in the European educational space.

Irina Zolotarova, NAQA member, was a speaker for the second session on “Specific Challenges Facing Ukrainian Universities in Implementing the Principles and Goals of the Bologna Process.” She presented the purpose and main tasks of the Erasmus+ project “Bologna Hub Peer Support II” and discussed the main problems Ukrainian higher education institutions face in aligning with the principles and goals of the Bologna Process. She also explained how advisory missions can support universities in their efforts to fully comply with Bologna principles.
