“The war for the brains of Ukrainians has been going on for more than a century, and it will not be the soldiers who are defending us now with weapons in their hands who will stand in the way, but we – the teachers, because only the teachers are fighters for brains. That is why today’s exchange of views and discussion is extremely important for all of us,” –
noted NAQA Head Andrii Butenko in his opening speech during the third virtual round table on the experience exchange between teachers and practitioners in the field of legal education of Great Britain and Ukraine on the topic “Solving modern challenges in education: decolonization and the role of academic communities”.
On March 1, this online event brought together academics, practitioners, and law students to discuss the role of law schools and academic communities in addressing today’s challenges in education. The discussion was focused on the British experience of decolonization and Ukraine’s efforts in the field of de-Sovietization and de-Russification of education. This event aimed to promote exchange and collaboration between British and Ukrainian teachers and practitioners to improve the quality of legal education. In addition, the round table discussed the experience of creating the Association of Law Teachers (ALT), highlighting key areas of its activity and ways to join it. The event was organized by USAID Justice for All Activity in partnership with NAQA and the Association of Legal Teachers (ALT).
