“NAQA’s task is not to give an assessment. We are not a ranking body. Our task is to help universities see their weaknesses in order to improve them and, if possible, to highlight the top ones,”
said Andrii Butenko, NAQA Head, during the discussion “Current Context and Challenges in the System of Higher Legal Education in Ukraine: the Vision of the Representatives of State Authorities in the Field of Higher Education and Their Advisory Bodies”.
On 11 April, Andrii Butenko took part in the two-day event “Development of legal education: international standards of teaching law at universities and their implementation in Ukraine”, organised by the Ukrainian Catholic University School of Law with the support of the American people provided through the USAID within the framework of the USAID Justice for All Program.
The event brought together representatives of leading Ukrainian law schools, state bodies responsible for higher education, public sector entities, employers, and the student community to showcase and discuss the efforts of Ukrainian law schools in implementing the Innovative Curriculum for Specialist Training in 081 Law, and to establish a forum for sharing experiences and best practices in legal education development.
