“Control is only a small part of NAQA’s activities. Our main task is to encourage the development of higher education quality assurance systems,” said Andrii Butenko, NAQA Head, at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Education, Science and Innovation. Andrii Butenko reported on the results of study programmes accreditation for specialties for which the Unified State Qualification Exam (USQE) was introduced, and emphasized NAQA readiness to use the results of the USQE in the accreditation process.
NAQA Head highlighted the importance of the responsibility of HEIs in case of deliberate violation of the law, which can lead to poor quality training of students, and suggested ways of cooperation between central executive authorities, NAQA and HEIs to implement and improve the use of the USQE in the training of students.
