On 15 May, the second study visit as part of the Erasmus+ project “Alumni Management Excellence: Building University Capacity for Sustainable Graduate Engagement” (ALMEX) came to a close. The event was attended by Andrii Butenko, Head of the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance, and Nataliia Stukalo, NAQA Vice Head.
During the study visit, a meeting was held with the President of Alumni España, during which the role of national alumni networks in the development of university communities and the strengthening of interaction between alumni and higher education institutions was discussed.
An important part of the event was meeting representatives of the W-RISE association and the Amigos de Ucrania initiative, whose activities are aimed at supporting Ukrainians currently in Spain.
Particular attention was paid during the visit to the role of alumni in ensuring the quality of higher education. Active engagement between universities and alumni communities contributes to the improvement of study programmes, as well as the development of effective feedback mechanisms, which are important components of the quality assurance system.
The study visit marked another step towards fostering a modern culture of engagement with alumni, developing international partnerships, and strengthening the capacity of Ukrainian universities to maintain active and sustainable links with their alumni communities in Ukraine and abroad, as well as enhancing the quality of higher education in line with European approaches and practices.
