On 5 June, a seminar organised by the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance was held in Lviv for the Chairs of sectoral expert councils at Lviv Polytechnic National University.
During the session ‘External Assessment by NAQA in Accordance with European Standards: Benefits, Recommendations and ESG 2027’, NAQA Vice Head, Nataliia Stukalo, outlined to participants the key vectors for integrating the Ukrainian higher education system into the European area. Particular attention was paid to analysing the benefits of external assessment, implementing international recommendations, and preparing for the updated ESG 2027 standards.
During a lengthy and lively discussion, participants addressed topical issues regarding the implementation of European standards within the domestic education system. Participants in the Q&A session focused on the practical nuances of adapting NAQA’s internal processes to the future requirements of ESG 2027 and taking international recommendations into account, which enabled them to jointly outline clear guidelines for further work.
The practical part of the event took the form of an intensive training session, ‘The List of Major Drawbacks and its Application in the Work of NAQA’, led by NAQA Head Andrii Butenko and the Head of the Analytics and Training Support Department, Oxana Trebenko. The speakers provided a detailed analysis of the structure and logic behind the application of the approved List of Major Drawbacks, which are identified during accreditation procedures.
NAQA would like to thank the Chairs of SECs for their active participation and professional discussion, and Lviv Polytechnic National University for its hospitality!
