This week, Nataliia Stukalo, Vice Head of the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance, took part in the third and final study visit of the Erasmus+ ALMEX project (“Alumni Management Excellence: Building University Capacity for Sustainable Graduate Engagement”), which took place at the SGH Warsaw School of Economics. NAQA is a partner in the ALMEX project.
During the study visit, considerable attention was paid to involving students and alumni in the quality assurance processes for study programmes, as well as their role in international accreditation. Participants learnt about SGH’s experience in working with international alumni, using one of the university’s study programmes as an example, as well as the activities of the SGH Alumni Association and practices for strengthening ties between students, alumni and the university community. Particular attention was paid to the contribution of graduates to the development of study programmes, the international positioning of higher education institutions and the formation of a sustainable academic community.
For NAQA, participation in the ALMEX project is a key component in the development of modern approaches to quality assurance in higher education. Involving graduates in the processes of developing, monitoring and improving study programmes is one of the effective mechanisms for establishing an internal quality assurance system. Active engagement with graduates helps to improve the content of education, enhance its relevance to the needs of society and the labour market, and foster a culture of continuous quality improvement.
