Within the framework of the ERASMUS + EDUQAS project, on May 21, 2020, NAQA members met with Dominique Thewissen, higher education quality assurance expert, who is a member of the Quality Management and Accompaniment (SMAQ) department at the University of Liège (Belgium). The overall mission of this department is to promote, coordinate and disseminate a quality culture within the university.
Much of the meeting was devoted to discussing the system of internal quality assurance of higher education institutions. In Belgium, much attention is paid to the higher education institutions self-assessment of internal processes which is carried out responsibly, thoroughly and seriously. In addition, state provides financial support for external evaluation process. This meeting was very informative and meaningful, the participants shared the experiences, noted the information that could be used to develop a national QA model.
Quality culture is one of the priorities of many European higher education institutions. NAQA supports this approach and advises all higher education institutions in Ukraine to prioritize the quality culture.
