17 June 2019 the Accreditation Commission of French High Council for Evaluation of Research and Higher Education (Hcéres) took its accreditation decisions for the two PhDs in Economics from Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics (KNUTE) and Simon Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics (KhNEU). The decision was to grant five-year unreserved accreditation for each of the programs.
The accreditation procedure was done under the European Erasmus+ project named C3QA “Promotion internationalization of research through establishment of Cycle 3 QA System in line with the European Agenda”. It took 8 month from the decision of the Universities to run the external evaluation and accreditation up to the Hcéres accreditation decision, while all the internal quality assurance regulations had already existed and had effectively been working in the Universities at the start of the procedure in November of 2018.
The procedure consisted of 3 main steps:

| 1 | November 2018 – January 2019 | Elaboration and submission of self-evaluation report drafted by the University team in charge of the program, according to the Hcéres standards, framework and evidence, specified by Hcéres. |
| 2 | February 2019 – May 2019 | External peer-review by the panel of experts, including foreign academics, a PhD student and a business representative: 6 experts which are led by a chair and coached by a Hcéres representative during the whole process. The stage consisted of:
1) desk-review of the self-evaluation report; 2) site-visit by the panel of experts; 3) drafting of the evaluation report; 4) University feedback on evaluation report; 5) drafting the final report and its submission to the Hcéres Accreditation Commission |
