On May 15, an online panel discussion was held on the topic: “Impact on improving the quality of training of IT specialists in higher education institutions within the framework of cooperation between business and education”, organized by the Kharkiv IT Cluster. The purpose of the event was to discuss the current state of IT education and opportunities for cooperation between employers and higher education institutions, to analyze the compliance of educational materials with business requirements, to encourage students to actively study IT disciplines, and to present the interim results of the “System of IT Disciplines Certification” project.
The opening speech was delivered by NAQA Head Andrii Butenko, emphasizing the importance of the quality of IT education.
Iryna Zolotaryova, a NAQA member, was also the speaker of the event. She told about the significance of the project’s results, the European experience of creating IT clusters, the introduction of the system of micro-credentials, and the prospects of attracting foreign specialists to improve the qualifications of tutors and students.
The event was also attended the representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science, members of the National Team of Experts on Higher Education Reform, heads of IT companies, tutors participating in the project, and students. NAQA promotes and supports the initiative of the Kharkiv IT cluster to synergistically connect employers, higher education institutions and applicants, which in practice improves the quality of IT education.
