Today, on the Day of Ukrainian Statehood, it was especially important to discuss ways to involve the country’s most potential resource — young people — in state-building processes, including civil service. NAQA is interested in the formation of a modern state based on the rule of law by an active, knowledgeable and virtuous youth community.
What role does academic integrity play in a career? Oleksandr Khymenko raised this question today at the National Roundtable “Youth Rights and Civil Service: Reformation of the Civil Service Career Institution.”
The speaker recalled both his own experience of working in the civil service and the roots of such a concept as academic integrity in the scientific environment. He also encouraged young people to take a conscious approach to higher education, emphasising that there are currently rules that, in case of violation of academic integrity, can impede career progression.
It is important to note that the event was attended not only by experts, representatives of the academic community, state and local authorities but also by activists and representatives of youth NGOs. Such a diversity of participants made the discussion more focused and took into account the needs and interests of different parties.
As a result of the roundtable, the participants developed recommendations aimed at reforming the civil service and promoting civil service among young people. The participation of NAQA representatives in such events confirms the commitment to support young people in gaining knowledge and experience to actively participate in the building of modern Ukraine. The involvement of young people in the state-building process is an important prerequisite for our progress and prosperity.
