Development of quality assurance systems in higher education institutions with specific learning conditions, particularly in fields 26 “Civil Security” and 25 “Military Sciences,” is more relevant than ever in the Ukrainian context.
On September 5th, NAQA hosted the “Current Issues in the Higher Education Quality Assurance in HEIs with Specific Learning Conditions,” webinar which was attended by over 300 participants, including study programmes guarantors, deans, heads of departments, staff members responsible for the internal quality assurance system of higher education institutions with specific learning conditions.
The webinar began with introductory remarks from Andrii Butenko, the Head of NAQA, and Inna Yashchuk, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. Andrii Butenko expressed gratitude for the strong interest of specialized HEIs in the webinar and emphasized the need for further understanding of various aspects of the quality assurance of higher education in the extremely relevant fields in Ukraine amidst the ongoing conflict. Inna Yashchuk confirmed the special attention given to the high-quality training of specialists in these fields and the active collaboration between higher education institutions within the Ministry of Internal Affairs system and NAQA regarding the accreditation of study programmes and the enhancement of quality assurance systems in higher education.
Nataliia Stukalo, Olena Yermenko, Volodymyr Medvediev, Oleksandr Khymenko, and Vladyslav Lisovenko, presented their expertises which were focused on European higher education standards as specific benchmarks and their implementation in Ukrainian educational realities. They discussed the peculiarities of the internal quality assurance system of HEIs with specific learning conditions, the experience of accrediting educational programs in fields 25 and 26, the legal foundations of the higher education quality assurance system with innovations and future prospects, and the emphasized role of students.
Webinar participants had the opportunity to submit questions in advance during registration and directly during the webinar, receiving responses from the speakers.
