On June 26, 2020 a consultative meeting between NAQA and THEQC took place. NAQA was represented by NAQA Vice Head Nataliia Stukalo, NAQA members Iryna Zolotaryova, Oleksandr Dlugopolsky and Ihor Oleksiv, Head of the NAQA Secretariat Mychailo Wynnyckyj and International Project Manager, Albina Tsiatkovska.
THEQC was represented by Muzaffer Elmas THEQC President, Aslıhan Nasır THEQC Council Member, Head of International Relations Commission, Tuba Canvar Kahveci THEQC Consultant, M. Dilek Avşaroğlu THEQC Academic Expert. The parties acquainted each other with the structure and purpose of the agencies, told the history and experience of their activities. Separately, Academic expert M. Dilek Avşaroğlu made a report on institutional accreditation in Turkey.
The Higher Education Quality Council of Turkey (THEQC) was founded in 2015. It is the only legal public entity responsible from quality assurance in higher education in Turkey. The primary activities and responsibilities of THEQC are as follows: external evaluation of higher education institutions, authorization of national and recognition of international accreditation agencies, internalization and dissemination of quality assurance culture in higher education institutions. THEQC is a member of ENQA, INQAAHE, APQN, CIQG.
